About us

  • Hey there! We are The Urquhart’s! The fun-filled family of 5 behind The Good Stand.

    Chris is the creative mastermind and craftsman and Kayla is addicted to coffee and all things natural living. We have three super adventurous, silly, mischievous kids- two boys and our little girl.

    We live and run our business in the beautiful Hunter Valley, Australia. We have a passion to inspire and influence change in our day-to-day and genuinely make a difference in the lives of others. It’s time to make a #goodstand

  • Back in 2019 we began creating timber displays to store essential oils and grew from there! Then in July 2021 Chris resigned from his full-time manufacturing job and we embarked together into running what was a little side gig into our full time job!

    Since starting we’ve grown our essential oil displays to a wide range of 38 displays and have expanded our range to low-tox products for the home with over 40 products and so much more to come!

  • In 2018 Chris was diagnosed with a heart condition that changed everything. After his (successful!) surgery we went through so many health issues and told he would be on medication for the rest of his life. We knew there had to be another way, why was he getting sick all the time? Surely there would be other options.

    One day a great friend of ours was telling us about the ingredients in products and how they were unregulated and found to cause a whole host of health issues. Ding din ding! The lightbulb went off, our eyes were opened, and we realised we were being lied to by big corporations.

    We started to change our whole lives. We made our own cleaning products, started changing personal products and found there was so much overwhelm. Why are there so many options, which is the best to choose, how can we do this on our budget were all questions we asked ourselves.

    Then we knew we had to create this. An online (and hopefully physical!) store that people can go to to get everything they need to live a low tox lifestyle and have a healthy home. So began The Good Stand! Our dream and passion has grown and evolved to bring the best clean products that are actually affordable.

Our Mission

  • There are currently over 80,000 substances we are exposed to through air, physical touch and ingestion, just to name a few. There are toxins and harmful chemicals in our food, cleaning products, beauty products, even our baby products.

    Did you know that 75-80% of chronic, degenerative illness actually stems from poor lifestyle choices? If you experience symptoms such as headaches, migraines, frequent sickness, skin problems (acne, rashes etc), fatigue, low energy, digestive issues then your body is experiencing toxic overload. Even cutting out one toxic product will make the biggest impact on your health.

  • We hope to empower those around us to make the best decisions for their family too. Follow us on socials where we’ll educate and share with you what chemicals to avoid and why, how to read labels and so much more.   • Living a low tox life doesn’t have to be expensive! We know what it’s like having a family, trying to pay all the bills and make the best decisions for your family. We believe that we shouldn’t have to pay more for a healthy lifestyle. Instead, we use better products and save our health long term, we’re thinking about the future here.

  • We love our planet and believe we need to make changes now to take care of it for the future generations, we are endeavouring for environmental change. We’ve taken steps to ensure that all of our work and products are good for the environment. This includes everything from our solar powered workshop to our certified sustainably sourced and completely low-tox materials, consumables and coatings.

    All orders are wrapped in home compostable packaging (including the tape and the labels!)

Human Trafficking affects men, women and children around the globe, including right here in Australia. With your proceeds we can help fund A21s core steps to freedom; Reach, Rescue, Restore & Urgent Needs.
